Stari Bar

Hello from Antalya,

When we were on the way of Ulcinj to meet with a friend he advised us to stop by Bar and Stari Bar. Both oh them were amazing! Such a pity; I did not hear any about Stari Bay before but thank to my friend it was an amazing experience.

When we went to there on Saturday, there was a local market with local products as olive, olive oil, cheese, honey, liqueurs, etc. If your way pass by Montenegro; definitely you have to try "Rakija" the local spirits. An important notice; The alcohol tolerance is zero while you are driving hence if you wish to try the local sprites take a taxi. Taxis are quite cheap almost all around the country. Also any cost will be much more cheaper than an accident hence please, do not take the risk and take a taxi.

The city was surrounded with high walls to be protected with attacks. The sources are saying that the city establish app 1040 on Londsa Hill, at the foot of Mount Rumija. During the history of the city several civilizations presents.

It is possible to see the churches and mosques together or close to each other; this is respect

The city has really very old and huge olive trees; we could not see this time but the people is saying that even they have olive trees which are 700-1000 years old; WOW! The main facility at Stari Bar is farming and based on my experience they do such a great job.

I always loved and preferred small cities which are full of peace, serenity and comfort for me. Small shops, small cafes, warm and indeed people. Shinny and crowd cities are like plastic flowers; they look gorgeous but not smelling and not alive...

To access to the top of the hill you have to walk app 1,2 km from down to up by the way or by the stairs. If you are passing by Bar / Montenegro; please, take the path and visit Stari Bar.

Enjoy,
Zelce
