Living costs at Montenegro

 Good morning,

As you know we are living on rural side / North part of Montenegro, on a small village. The closest city Danilovgrad is app 14 km distance.

To be a bit outside of the city means not easy to access to some items such as fresh bread in the morning. Yes, I have a car but do not think so that is a good idea to drive 28 km daily just for bread. Ss I always say; the sources of the world is not endless that much.

I buy 25 kg flour from Aroma Market with the amount of 8.25 Euros. Last time I used it more less six month and used flour for cooking, for bread and for cake during winter.

If you did not try yet; I strictly advice to cook bread with fresh rosemary. I use 4.5 glasses of flour, one glass of yogurt  one glass of warm water, a tea spoon of salt and a table spoon of yeast.

My secret power is my catkid to make bread 😁

I did not put their names; the family who should adopt them from Germany put their names and I registered accordingly. "Haylaz" means "Naughty" in Turkish; he is the one who deserves the name I guess.

During the winter I cook in the stove but when it is hot / summer instead of stove use pan to cook them. Then put in a bag and place in the fridge. With this ingredient what I gave above; I have 7-8 breads which means approximately for one week.

Montenegro is one of the country I ever been which lives the weather extremely. When it is cold; it is really cold, had minus 15 on thermometer. As a Mediterranean person minus was only math for me!. When it is windy; windy such as 80 km; the speed limit is 50 km on a big part of the country! When it is rainy; it is rainy; the rivers flood. When it is hot; it is hot; took the photo last week at Danilovgrad!

Plus 50 celcius!

I receive several questions about life at Montenegro. Sometimes they ask for night life (I have no single idea about that) and mostly how much do they need to live. Even I have bo single idea about that; how much do you need to live at Montenegro? What is your habits, what do you do, what is your expectations? I can share my experiences but you are the one who have to make the calculations.

I worked with Namos and Zecanka for furniture. They are budget friendly. If you search on internet "namjestaj" you can see more options. Bought white machinery from Tehnoplus; they also have different companies on this sector. Except than the roof and electric system; I buy the materials and make everything by my own. OKOV and KIPS my favourite construction markets. For paint materials I bought from Eurozox.

PS: Rains already started. Thank to God finish the facade paint on time. Only have to find a way or a victim for that left part between the roofs.

For marketing Voli has the best prices, then Aroma and Idea. Time to time they really have good campaigns. Kuca Heminje is for house cleaning and cosmetics.

Mostly 200-220 Euros us enough for us; if I have to buy some construction materials such as paint (paid app 90 Euros for paint, cement, etc; it should cost 400 Euros if I ordered) it gets higher.

So, you are the one who has to make the calculations as how much do you need for monthly expenses.

With love
