Less is more at DIY projects

Good morning world,

As you guess, do my best to finish tasks as usual.

The task of yesterday was to clean the garden. Normally was planning to add to compost tank but I already have two and have limited space. So all hone now. After cleaning of the leaves, collected the rest of the oak apples and again I have app 30 kilo of them. They also go to the neighbours.

One of neighbour is taking care of a lot cats and dogs. Three of the cats are just kitten and also three of the dogs are puppy. The weather is quite cold during the nights and I was so restless for them. Offered to the neighbour to make a house for them.

Next door neighbour gave the OSB pieces three weeks ago what he does not need anymore. After a basic planning in my mind; started to cut, nail, screw the pieces.

Used sanitary silicone to fill minor blanks. For isolation used polycarbonate sheets which also recycling, found them on the side of the dumpers and took to be used in the future.

And the house is ready! Especially made the front part higher than back to let rain drain outside, not inside of the house. Also made a blank on the sides to let light in and covered with plastic for isolation.

Cats are a bit different/difficult animals. Was not sure if they accept the house or not but here you go; they all accepted. You can not imagine how happy I am!

We put bricks under the house from neighbour also cut a trapeze plate to cover the roof. Later on she will add foam inside to comfort them.

All these scrap materials turned by and between three neighbours and now minimum four has a home. Just do it 😇

Two years ago, when visited Bar, saw different pine cones and took them all. If you are reading the blog you have to know that I love evaluate the materials also make designs. Used that cones to make candle holders for friends, another candle holder for home and now time to use the rest.

I always say that there is a crown lives in my soul and loves shiny materials.

I glued and applied glossy on the corners of the cones. Normally was planning to use for new year tree; but changed.

The landlord of another friend from Podgorica trimmed the trees; by the chance I was there at the same day and of course took the branches 😁 To let them shine and also keep green for longer period applied veneer on them and dried as this.

And the result. The camera of the phone is not good enough to show the result; it is much more beautiful than photo.

New year and Christmas season is a bit longer here. Catholics celebrate Christmas on 24th December and Orthodox celebrate on 8th January. This will let me have my tree and the spirit for a long period. I started to decorate the tree but will gift to neighbours and friends for Christmas and new year. Spirits in the air 😘

Take care and stay safe
