Season greetings from Zelcestan

Good afternoon from cold and windy Montenegro,

Due to "lovely" corona virus the spirit of the season celebrations are not the same as other years. Last year we came just two days before the new year hence could not understand anything even could not make any preparations.

For me; Christmas and New Year means hope, sharing, friendship, neighbouring, communicating, etc. But also means lot's of sparkles, decorations, lights 😇

At the beginning of November stopped by one of the local shop at Podgorica; Cungu and bought a tree for Zelcestan. Also a few small decorations to add. And made the rest 😉

Found these three crystals on the road and took to add our names on them and placed on the tree.

As you remember made a lot of them with different colours and started to gift to the neighbours and friends. Also used a big part of them to decorate our tree.
Spend approximately 7 Euros for the decorations, made the rest at home.
Decors, lights and shine; this is the happiness 😇
As others another DIY decoration for windows.
And the most lovely decoration and light of Zelcestan; Benek and Haylaz.

Yesterday learnt that here, at Montenegro also new year has a different date. Normally Christmas is on  24th evening for Catholics. And I was knowing as except than China for the rest of the world new year is on 31st December. I was wrong!

Population of Montenegro is mostly Orthodox therefore Christmas is on 7th January and also learnt that new year date is not 31st December; on 14th January.

I made small search on internet found a good information on the web page of National Geographic; https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/reference/holidays/why-celebrate-christmas-january/.

This is a new knowledge but also good one for me. Then I can keep my decorations much longer 😉

So, wish to say Merry Christmas to the one who celebrates tomorrow evening. Let me see who is in nice or nasty list of Santa Claus 😁

With love,
Benek & Haylaz & Zel
