Welcoming to the winter

 Good afternoon,

At the end December came; officially we are in winter season.

This is the view from kitchen window. It is almost one year we moved to Zelcestan and indeed; I loved all seasons.

More than 10 days, we wake up to the iced garden. Saw -7 (still I insist this has to be used at math, not weather 🙄) and a big part of the flowers got frozen. Today started to dismantle kadife flowers which got effected a lot from the freeze. It is raining since three days and meteorology is saying that next 10 days will be rainy 🐳

Received more persimmon fruits from another neighbour. They are much more than what I can eat.

It is named "Japanske Jabuka" (Japanese Apple) at Montenegro and I love to eat it like apple if the skin is thin. If not, I peel it before eat but still love to it with bites like apple.

As mentioned several times; do not like to waste the sources and try different ways to stock/evaluate food. With persimmons, dried some with hanging but humidity effects quite a lot to the quality and duration of drying therefore sliced them to dry in the stove.

100% organic dry fruit ready for winter 😉

Finished the fifth pair of booties to be gifted to another neighbour. I love neighbouring at Zagorak; much more warmer and indeed than cities.

The fore brick of the stove was moved; I was looking for samot mortar (a special mortar to be used for high temperatures such as stove, oven, fire places, etc.) and found at OKOV. Three kilos mortar plus the liquid to prepare is 3 Euros. And this morning when had a break with stove made it.

It is also my first time to work with this material; we will see the result.

Will continue to fill the blanks by and between the walls and frames. Using white cement for that; an easy material to work with such tiny places also easy to clean later on. Found only at Eurozox Špuz with the amount of 6.40 Euros for 25 kilos pack.

As usual Haylaz is sleeping on my legs, now waiting for him to wake up then continue to the works.

With love,
Benek & Haylaz & Zel
