Why chosen Montenegro to live...

 Good afternoon another rainy day,

Meteorology is saying that nex one week even will be rainy; time to be a fish or green again 😁 Mother nature needs rain to be ready to spring to introduce her beauty and the sources again, otherwise humanity will have problem without rain.

Several times I faced with the same question; "Why I am here?"

First of all; I love nature and Montenegro has the nick name of "wild beauty" which perfectly matches with the country. These photos are from Zeta River; one of the river of Montenegro which connects with Tara River and create Moraca.

When I was living at Antalya, I was walking the Lycian Way; finished app 250 km of the path with camping on the mountains. Here, at Zagorak (the village where we live), no need to go further or long distance to see all these beauties.

All just walking distance to my home ❤

Secondly neighbouring; also possible to see on big cities but here we have a bit more. Actually here we are like a family more than neighbour. When you have eye contact with someone say hi directly; even you can say hi too without any misunderstanding.

As I wrote on previous notes, started to make persimmon marmalade and dry and gift to the neighbours. This came from one of neighbour; kiwi. (Now I have to find out what to do with 😉)

Almost all villages of the country has own farms and farming facilities such as milk;

This morning made a small walk to the dairy and bought milk to make yogurt also sutlac (a traditional sweet with sugar and rice, also I add some cacao or chocolate to improve the zest).

All these food are real organic food. Fruit and vegetables do not have hormones or additional support to grow, even animals are eating grass/green.

As location, Montenegro is by and between east and west; possible to find a lot such as a cultural harmony, flights to and from (except than this "lovely" corona period), access to the sea or mountains within the same day, possible to cross the country edge to edge in a short time...

Of course, same as all countries has some difficulties such as language (last week I learnt that even private names can be changed where and how you use🤯), if you are a Mediterranean person as me; climate can be another challenge. Not easy to find a specialist for maintenance jobs (I was thinking it was me due to language but even neighbours have problem at the same point); thank God I am able to do almost all!. And a few minor points are negative for Montenegro.

I am so glad to be here with my cat kids. I was looking for serenity and Montenegro serves this to me much more than I want.

Take carr and stay safe

  1. I am considering moving to the mountains of Montenegro - I love the snow, and being in the forest, near lakes and rivers. I look forward to learning more and enjoying your blog. I too have two cats!

    2. Hello, I am glad to hear that you liked my blog. I am living on a small village named Zagorak, placed on a valley. Here we do not have too much snow but definitely feel the winter with low temperatures. Please feel free to ask for if you have any question about Montenegro.
