Citizenship at Montenegro

 Good evening from a freezing day,

After days of rains, at the end stopped but this time freezing wind (NNE 15-30 km) effected quite a lot. Could not use the wood stove due to strong wind but at least had electric to heat the room. 

This is the garden of one of the neighbour and no, they do not live in a lake. A big part of the gardens and lands under water as this. 

Thank God, no rain for a few days but this time minus temperatures will be effective...

So, I heard this from a lot people as when you buy a property or establish a company you own citizenship at Montenegro. This is definitely wrong information.

There was an economic citizenship programme which has some financial investment requirements to have citizenship but cancelled at December. The new government is working on another programme but all points dis not get clarified yet.

To be able to apply to the citizenship; you have to have 10 years residency at Montenegro. For first five years you renew it yearly (temporary residence permit) then you have a language exam of Montenegrin then apply for five years residency (permanent resident permit). After 10 years you can apply for citizenship.

An another important point is Montenegro does not accept dual citizenship hence you have to choose one of them; your current citizenship or Montenegro. 

Also during temporary residence permit period, you are allowed to leave the country 30 days within 365 days. Otherwise the counter starts over from beginning. Possible to give petition to the MUP office and extend up to 90 days if mandatory. As far as I know this regulations are valid only for the one who does not have a company. (Like me, have a house and my residency is related to the house).
