Once more time to take the residence permit. At Montenegro, you can apply for residence permit as real estate owner (like me), as a company owner or as a worker. The government is working on different purposes such as digital nomad visa but did not get clarified yet.
When you apply to residence permit for the first time; you will need:
-copy of all pages of your current passport
-banks statement which shows that you have 3.650 Euros on your account (10 Euros for a day)
-health insurance issued for minimum one month
-apostilled criminal record
-ownership proof taken from registration office (nekretnine)
-official translation of your passport and criminal record to Montenegrin
When you deliver them all, more less 40 days alter you have to pay the fees and take the receipts to MUP office to be able to pick up tour residence permit.
For renewal they are asking for copy of all pages of your passport and original ownership proof of the house. Even for renewal it takes more less 40 days to take it.
Based on the laws, the one who has residency true house, can stay out of the country maximum 30 days in a year. Otherwise the permit will not be renewed and you have to prepare all documents again. Also, the car registration/permit of the foreigners is connected to the residence permit hence better to be careful with dates.
In some cases; possible to extend this timing with a petition to MUP office up to 90 days but advised not to do if not really needed.
I applied for renewal on 13th December and they gave the date for delivery on 24th January. But the car registration (ehich means also traffic insurance)will be expired on 21st January. Yesterday went and explained the situation as I applied but have a three days delay causing from delivery of the residence permit and even I have proof on my hand and took the appointment for 21st.
All these steps and papers are for real estate based residency. Work or company established residency is completely different; better to check with related government office or a consultant to avoid any problem.
Will issue the renewal of car registration individually.
