Good morning from rainy and snowy days,
As shared previously, cars has to be checked annually in Montenegro. The name of the authorised stations is "Tehnički Pregled". You can find them all around Montenegro.
To be able to have a vehicle inspection, you have to renew your residence permit first. Even to be able to buy a car under your name; first you have to have a residence permit.
It was time for inspection for my car and I took appointment for Friday and went there. Was not expected to have a bad surprise; handbrake is not working properly! You should see my face and eyes.
I used it hardly only on the way of Turkiye when "dear" Google Maps routed me to that torture road, when lost the control of the car due to road conditions.
Here, in Montenegro it's not easy to find a service and maestro for house, garden and car. Normally when I was going to Turkey in 5th December; kilometre display stopped working several times. Due to limited time there, couldn't handle. And as shared, we had two Christmas and two new year celebrations here hence waited until the end of all holiday seasons. And then started to run after services with no luck!
Thank to officers from Tehnicki Pregled, they found someone for car and even they escorted me until there and spoken with maestro to explain the problem. His hands were really full hence gave an appointment for next morning.
He was fast, solution oriented and also speaks English which was a real plus and bonus for me.

He found the problem (drum breake), showed me as he has to replace them, went and bought the parts, replaced, went for a test drive and even took car to inspection and took the paper.
And they host this handsome boy. He was warming up me while they were fixing my car. When I went back to home, Benek and Haylaz (smelling detectors) were aware of that I betrayed them 😁
When you have car inspection, they take the car registration. When you pass the inspection, they issue a paper which proofs that you are waiting for registration. The number plates of foreigners cars are replacing every year. They add the years of validation.
Please note that; with that paper, you can drive only inside of the country therefore better to plan you agenda accordingly.
I heard that, there is a problem with producing new plates, even until March there is no new plates. Completed the inspection on Saturday; now waiting for plates and new registration. Will keep you updated about progress.
