Rust disease

Good morning from the last day of March,

Independently from the size; if you have a garden that means you have a lot to do! Weather is getting warmer day by day which is good for nature but also warmer temperature brings diseases together like rust disease.

This starts mostly with humidity and warm temperature; previously I saw with fig and pear trees but here also saw with hibiscus and oak trees.

If you see marks on the leafs like this; first take photos, then burn them if possible away from garden. There are different types of rust disease therefore you will need photo to explain and clarify the problem.

Sulphur is mostly effective to reduce the spreading of this disease. I prepare lime sulphur every year, will use it as a temporary protection but will need something stronger. Last year we had this with figs and had almost no fruit therefore this year year wish be get prepared before it gets stronger.

Take care,
We
